Travellers: John & Caitlin
After reading books about jungle exploration, Caitlin and John wanted an adventure of their own. We wanted to venture as far away from humans as possible, and that's what we got through Amazon Deep Jungle Tours. After a day in Manaus, we began the long journey through Tefé and Marãa to Cumapi Lake and Rapids, where we spent six days exploring the rainforest.
Manaus
We started and ended our trip in Manaus, a port city close to the Amazon. We tried the food that the city is known for, and made sure to see the most popular tourist attractions: the Teatro Amazonas and Adolpho Lisboa Market.
The Rainforest
We camped in the rainforest for six days and learned about the plants, animals, and people that live there. We fished using lines and spears, hiked through the jungle, and saw the animals that emerge only at night.
The Journey
We spent about 90 hours on speedboats, slow boats, motor boats, and canoes, each of which had their own
comforts (or lack thereof). We also stopped in the towns of Tefé and Marãa.
