Japan
Osaka | Hiroshima | Miyajima | Kyoto | Tokyo | Hakone
Travellers: Caitlin & Kevin
Based out of Osaka and Tokyo, we traveled to several cities via high speed rail, exploring the history, culture, and food local to each one. From sushi to arcades to robots to hot springs, we tried to take advantage of all Japan had to offer.
Osaka
In Osaka, we experienced local nightlife and foods, and made sure to check out some big tourist attractions,
like the Osaka Aquarium and Osaka Castle.
Hiroshima & Miyajima
In Hiroshima, we visited several sites related to the 1945 bombing of the city. We tried some of the local dishes before venturing to nearby Miyajima, known for its floating shrine and oysters.
Fushimi Inari Shrine
Located at the edge of Kyoto, Fushimi Inari is known for its thousands of red torii gates, shrines, and statues
of foxes.
Tokyo
In Tokyo, we gamed at the arcades and walked through the parks and markets. We tried the best ramen in Japan, and sampled seafood dishes. We also went to shrines, art exhibits, and the Robot Restaurant.
Hakone Yuryo Onsen
We took a break from the city to relax in a hot spring in Hakone, near Mount Fuji. Afterwards, we cooked our
own food at the attached restaurant.
