Sun Moon Lake

This was the whole reason we came to East Asia: Victor and Wei's wedding! But first we had to get there. The Taiwan High Speed Rail from Taipei to Taichung took about an hour, then we spent another hour and a half on the Nantou bus from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake. Finally, we took a ferry across the lake to our hotel. I'm glad that we planned this out before we got to Taiwan - it wasn't hard to get there, but getting the route planned out required some research. It was raining when we arrived at Sun Moon Lake, so we only briefly saw the town before arriving at our hotel where we ate dinner and relaxed.

The next day, the weather was much better and allowed us to see the beauty of Sun Moon Lake. The hotel overlooking the lake was a perfect venue for the wedding. The ceremony began at 10 AM outside and was in Taiwanese and English. After the ceremony, we were fed an amazing 12-course meal. I hadn't tried most of the food served before, and all of it was superb. We got to chat a little with Victor and Wei, the stars of the event, but soon had to say our goodbyes to head back to Taipei for our flight the next morning. What a perfect way to end our trip. Congratulations, Victor and Wei!
